About Trailmark
Trailmark Systems provides software-as-a-service (SaaS) and consulting services to help Indigenous communities and organizations manage traditional knowledge, land use, environmental monitoring, and community engagement.
Heuristics
I evaluated the existing product against Jakob Nielsen's 10 heuristics, uncovering recurring issues across content hierarchy, visual consistency, and interaction patterns.
This gave me a clear, evidence-based foundation to work from rather than redesigning based on assumptions.
Sketching and Ideation
With the problem areas mapped, I explored a range of structural solutions through ideation before committing to a direction. For sketching the focus was on layout and flow without getting pulled into visual details too early.
Designing UI Elements
I built a component library in Figma covering all key states, variants, and interaction patterns identified during the heuristic evaluation. This gave me a consistent foundation and a single source of truth to carry confidently into high fidelity screens.
BEFORE
Made password protection more easier and accessible for users to protect their published work right there and then!
Interaction for data visualizations to directly exported from the dashboard into user’s public portal :)
Introduced AI write for better and enhanced copy writing help
Introduced custom story maps which can be incorporated directly into the public portal and can be editable as required.
They are designed to be structured according to their style and type, to make the users grasp them in an easier way.
